How low was that windchill?

I've had enough fun with buses for one week. It snowed pretty much all day yesterday (about 10 inches accumulation) and wreaked havoc on commutes everywhere. I'm usually pretty immune to gridlock since I take the bus, but haven't been so lucky lately.

Yesterday, I had to go to downtown Minneapolis before heading to work in downtown St Paul. Getting into the city wasn't a big deal, but I ended up standing for the half hour ride between cities because the bus was so crowded. Ick.

Today, I waited for my usual express bus from home to St Paul. After 20 minutes of standing outside, I called the bus company and learned that the bus was running FIFTY minutes late. This was after watching two local buses go by while hoping my express bus would come. I ended up getting a ride with someone else who was waiting for it. Thankfully, she wasn't an axe murderer. I hadn't ever seen her before but was willing to do whatever it took to get out of the 16 degree weather. With wet hair.

The side roads were still painfully slow, but once we hit the freeway we moved easily. I got to work 45 minutes later than expected.

At least it wasn't as bad as my co-worker who spent 2 1/2 hours coming in from the suburbs (2 hours longer than her usual commute).

Mr. Plow, can you please clear things now?
