28 years ago my grandmother bought a flat on the south coast of England, Bournemouth to be specific. But unfortunately she got adviced to sell it sooner then later because doing business with the banks of England is no dance on roses and it's best to sell the flat before she passes on.
We've been coming there every year since 1994. In fact, I took my very first steps in there.
In the event of that we might have found a buyer we decided to go on one final trip there as a family. My grandmother, brother, father and I went there for few days and they were spent mainly rewinding and relaxing, except for dad that had to work the first week. Few days later my father's twin and his two children joined and we spent our days very calmly; Ate almost daily down on Bournemouth square (and found out the waiter we've been talking with for years is called Thomas and not Mark), played tennis games, went on the beach and it was just lovely.
The forecast was not very bright but the Brits always think the weather's going to be awful. We actually had the blazing sun in our eyes most of the trip there with an occasional rain.
My brother and I went full on retro out there, wanting to relive our childhood buy shopping for Gameboys and games for that. We spent all our evenings playing Super Mario World or Pokémon Red version. And if not playing these games, I was in the kitchen working on a new hobby of mine which is Java programming. It's a huge struggle learning this but I enjoy every minute of it.
I am very thankful for this final trip and I will forever miss Bournemouth. I suppose Kopenhavn is next on the list!
Thank you for reading my story anad have a wonderful day!
The song of the day is of course dedicated to England and is the one I listened to when the plane took off - London Calling by The Clash.
