OK, so last year was fun all-in-all, that`s how I`ll put it. There were plenty of fun times, a couple of serious down times and a lot of blah times. That pretty much sums it up.
I came into last year very excited with high expectations. Freshman year had been the best time of my life (I still haven`t finished my freshman year entries?) and I figured sophomore year, being a year older, a year wiser, a year more experienced, living on west, being a FAC and so many vestal young freshmen, I couldn`t imagine it being anything but nirvana. Then Todd died and I went through a strange period where I felt sad, distant, guilty and acceptance mixed incongruously with typical, everyday life. In addition, I had a lot on my plate from early on with classes and then crew which consumed a lot of the time I would've spent with my friends. With Jay, Luna, Pauline, Erica, Brian and others living together in another dorm and me spending most of my free time on work and crew I sort of fell out of touch with them. I also didn't make much of an effort to fit in with the Manor so I ended up feeling alone and left out too much. Like I said, I had plenty of fun, but I think this confluence of factors dulled and saddened the experience a bit as a whole.
Crew: fucking hard!; morning practices; friday afternoon practices; sucking on the water then being awesome on the water; Stroking; Killing the erg times; Erg killing me; Hooch & initiation; winter training; Pae + Peter; Early BBQ; Jell-O wrestle party; team dinner
Orientation: disapointment w/ frosh; killin' it w/ Jay; seeing people again; seeing hot frosh; moving frosh in; scavenger hunt
School work = pretty damn hard; losing a lot of time to school work and crew
Missing out on a lot with friends - kind of drifting away
