Such a good time

Here we are in the middle of Toronto Pride again! WOW! I don't know many things that can compete with this party. I sure love our little group at home, and all the things we do together (and I wouldn't trade them for ANYTHING) but in the category of "10,000 people or more," Toronto Pride RULES. There is enough organization to keep things in line and enough disorganization to keep it fun. A good balance for sure, eh? (I have learned to speak the language here - you turn every sentence into a question by adding "eh?" somewhere either in the middle or end!) Paul bearcubbnc and I have been spending some high-quality time with friends, old and new, this week. I wish I could name you all here, but won't to avoid leaving anyone out! THANKS GUYS, FOR TAKING GOOD CARE OF US!

We are severely disappointed to learn that our good friend Joe C from Lockport (who generously put up with us for 2 days on our way up here!) is suffering from a miserable summer cold and won't make it up for The Parade or festivities today. WE SURE HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON! I hear that Nurse Mike B is there to take care of him and pamper his every need.

Tomorrow morning at oh-early-thirty we will pack up and head back home. Sigh! Another TO Pride will be in the bag and now history. I am generally at a loss for words. One day there are close to a million people in a huge street party and by 9 am the next morning, the street is back to normal again. It's an amazing transition that the City of Toronto and Toronto Pride carries off every year with such skill. One thing I have noticed this year is a much larger police presence. Usually, you don't see more than a dozen or so uniformed officers. Just from a rough estimate, I would guess there are three times that many this year. Another sigh! A sign of the times, I guess - one of the more distressing ones.
