so i'm walking into my room earlier, hands full, glass of water and what not, and go to close the door and re position the sound dampening device (aka towel on the floor).... so i go to turn around, swinging my foot to sorta kick the door and towel and such... when i am very suddenly reminded that my bookshelf happens to be next to my door.
yea, i basicly kicked the bookshelf full force, hitting the seconf toe from the left on my left foot in a glancing motion, equivilant to a knife blade slicing it open. so it has been bleeding quite freelyfor a while now... stings quite a bit too. yea... that one hurt like a bitch. thank god i can still move it... if it were broken i would be REALLY screwed.
oh, and before tracye nags me some more... Troy was awesome. i admit, i've never actually read the illiad, but i have always had a vague knowledge of the whole thing, and as a general history buff, i was quite stasified and even impressed. the little thing,s like the coins on their eyes to pay the boatman on the river Styx and what not, i really like that.
not to mention the way the battle lines clashed... the men charging in and basicly jumping and diving over the shild walls of the enemy... VERY nicely done. shows how desperate and hopeless things could get.
one thing i didnt like... having worked at disneyland, a place that regularly see's 50,000 people in a day... those boats looked like far too many. and that line of soldiers looked FAR too big. i mena, take your average sports arena. thats the kind of numbers we are talking about. sure, its a shit load, but enough to fill boats for as far as the eye can see, and covering miles upon miles of beach head? i dont know... maybe it was accurate. i'm sure they were smart enough to have the right numbers, as they themselves stated. it just LOOKED too big. *shrug* certainly looked like Troy was outdone by ALOT more then 2 to 1.
but again, this is a nit pick. over all, i loved it. Achilles desire for fame at all costs, the combat tactics... good stuff, all of it. and even Paris, the mega wuss, had his redemption, after a fashion, by living to lead troy in Exile.
but yea. i liked. anyway. i'm gonna go hope my toe is ok and that i can go to work tomorrow, and watch Wolf's Rain. :D
