Baby Seat Opinions

Have a question for the moms of small fry out there.  As it has been a decade since we dealt with baby equipment, there are new gadgets out there... specifically the Bumbo seat and it's competitor the Bebe Pod.  I've not looked at these in the store yet, but from what I can tell online, the Bumbo is soft and rubbery, whereas the Bebe Pod is harder plastic?  In reviews of both, I've seen complaints that the Bumbo doesn't work for older babies due to their legs outgrowing the openings (or chunky younger babies), yet the Bebe Pod lets younger babies slip and slide around.  I don't think Lenae's chunky or chubby thighed, but since none of the reviewers state how big their babies are weight wise, hard to tell what they mean by "chunky".

I'm looking at the seat(s) as an alternative to a high chair or more traditional booster seat, as we're short on space at our house.  Plus the Bumbo/BebePod looks like it would be more multipurpose for use in other rooms, not to mention portable for travelling.  Lenae likes to sit with her brothers and a seat would keep her off the back of her head (unlike bouncy seat or boppy).

Cost-wise, they're similar ($35-40 range), so that's not a deciding factor really, but spending that much on something she'd use a month just seems kind of silly.  Both come with optional little trays for toys/food, and both have a variety of colors.

So, Mamas, any opinions on Bumbos & Bebe Pods?
