I'm horribly disappointed with my library's choice for Teen Night in February. The boys really enjoyed the December meeting (Eragon) but missed the January one because it was first Thursday instead of later in the month (it was Charlotte's Web). Now February is Napoleon Dynamite trivia night. *sighs* Is that even based on a book? From what little I saw of the movie when channel surfing, it wasn't something I'd let the kids watch - pure brainrot - so how in the world does it merit a library trivia night for the teens?
They have all these events for younger kids, but they keep doing the stuff too young (Clifford, Curious George) for the boys to be interested in. Teen Night is generally 10-13 year olds anyway.
Ah well, at least they get their Origami class there, and it seems they are throwing in an extra teen event for Black History month (watching House of Dies Drear) but that isn't the same as the Teen Night with its games and refreshments. I wish the other branches had good programs - I'd drive a ways to get them to decent ones - but Main is the only one that seems to acknowledge that working parents can't show up at 4-5pm. Darn it... library stuff is "my" thing with the boys.
