Short Week, Kinda?
Tomorrow I'm not coming into the office, but I'm still "working". I have an HR/payroll seminar to attend downtown. That should be interesting, even if the subject matter sounds a bit dry to most of my friends list, I'd bet. I wish I could remember what parking's going to run me for the day. I haven't been downtown and needed all-day parking since I worked the job fair back in 2003 at my old job.
So while I get to dwell on such topics as garnishments, life insurance, pensions, FICA, and the definition of "highly compensated employees", I'm hoping the office isn't left unattended. However, if it is left as such, that's not MY problem.
Although me being me, I'm going to cruise by the office after the seminar lets out, just to make sure nothing got ignored that can't wait until Monday. I'm a workaholic, I am.
It has been a decent week thus far. One of the Work Nightmares was resolved finally, in a rather positive light that will save lots of money on the long-term budget. That's an accomplishment I'm rather proud of, whether I get credit or not.
