Lazy weekend

Shifted work to a bloc; M-W. Leaves me Thursday for Dad now - good all round because it lets sister off to catch the community bus to Queanbeyan when she needs to, and good (selfishly) because personal carer comes that day anyway & I can use some of the time for hubby's business, hopefully. He's had to grin and bear a lot of neglect lately.

Back under pressure to sign up for Early Childhood Degree - boss talking about centre owner funding course and me paying him back but jesus that's a couple of grand each semester. It'd take years to give it all back, garnished out of pay after the fact (!) - see also HECS, same diff. OTOH I certainly don't have that kind of cash lying around :( may not have much option. At least two of us need to get enrolled fast. Question: is it worth doing the 0-8 teacher's course, or should I stick with 0-5? not interested in primary kids AT ALL to be honest but one has to admit that's where the money & jobs are. Could be useful if we up sticks at any point. OTOH: 'tudinal 7yos in 1:25 ratio? GTFO, DNW, NOYMFN.

Rewatching s1 Nu Who. Enjoying it more than I remembered/expected to; definitely worth a re-evaluation. Perhaps initial reaction was overly reflexive (oh, ya think ;p). Still dislike Rose, but not nearly as much as I thought I did - the Big Dumb Labrador moments are fewer and further between than I'd remembered. Perhaps that's a function of s2 more than anything. Very much enjoying Eccleston, but no change there.

Will hopefully be able to go through the others too now I've enough DL space :) Have hived off all photographs and OMG the lovely empty drives everywhere, wow. Now all I have to do is catalogue/cull the buggers. And add more from yesterday's walk up Camelback @ Tidbinbilla.

Having just read Necroville adds a certain extra edge to The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances - makes much more sense now, even at Breakneck Infodump Speed.

Growing up is hard, so sod that for a lark. Special unbirthday treat for loo - Dalek poster.

Trying a makeshift & mend version of Battle Jinhua Pork's pineapple & prune roast, at hubby's request. All bets are off...

bushwalk, work, doctor who, photography, housekeeping, study
