Confined to barracks

Sent home from doc with bag of antibiotics and instructions to avoid exposing Mum to nasty respiratory stuff. So. Lots of lovely gardening time but no breath to do it with, lots of available-to-Mum time but I can't go there. Fiiiine.

Done far too much tidying up just to have something to do. On the plus side:
  • identified replacement tap bits for bath
  • engaged electrician to fix in-slab heating
  • begun messing around with PHP
  • disinterred template website for hubby's synth - it's aliiiiiiive
  • finally figured out the point of Last FM
I'd always assumed we never got the heating fixed because (a) something really hard to fix was fucked and (b) hubby's Dad had bodged up a connection for the spa and Jon was all about avoiding Getting In Trouble From A Proper Electric. But... apparently not. Apparently it's the "off-peak connector", a small, easily replaceable part, and somebody's known that for a long time. Ten-minute jobbie.

So why have we done nothing about it for six years then?

Still waiting for an answer on that one. OK, electricity's expensive, we're away every second winter, and the house is mostly solar-passive, but jeez, it's off-peak - and MINUS TWO IN THE MORNINGS YANNO?

Must be one o'them Man Things. Serves me right for not just calling the damn electric when it happened. And on that note, Googling TAP FIXES.

On a completely different note: oooooo Justified... what a showdown :)
