For those hankering after past telly glories

Just watched part 2 of The Guardians - absolutely brilliant. All the more remarkable because the episode consists in large part of an intense two-hander: a prolonged and uncomfortable conversation about censorship and repression between Richard Hurndall and Cyril Luckham (as a television service head and a prime minister respectively).

Wonderful. How come I never heard of this before? Rapidly becoming a favourite.

On the subject of uncomfortable, the series' tottie, such as there is, is Gwyneth Powell... best known to me as Bridget the Midget - principal McClusky on Grange Hill. Feels very, very strange seeing her as a Sexy Young Wife.

I can see I'm going to need icons for this :)

television, skiffy, cult tv, telly, dystopias, nostalgia, culty crap
