Les Georges sont perdu

OMG, with a side helping of Zs. Definitely no pneumothorax, 'cos no biopsy. Le Dodgy George has only upped and disappeared. "Resolved", they call it. Got through the needle-placing scans, all psyched up for the harpoon, then the doc came out & said go home. YAY ( Read more... )

Okay, that's freakin bizzare that your George has disappeared. Stress disappates weird spots?

Siemens makes the machines we use at work - CTXs (Computed Tomography / X-ray machines)! Cool shit - I love to look at the insides when the maintenance guy is there. :) They have a big spinny part that does the 'slicing.'

It's downright disconcerting - especially after all that worry! But I can't pretend I'm not happy about it.

I'll admit to a real thing for fuckoffbigmachines of any variety. I don't have a clue about the tech, mostly, but just watching the way things go together - the fact that they *do*, at all, and that no matter how complicated it is, it all always comes down to some bloke somewhere going "what if" and *crafting* - is a real buzz. Totally with Lovejoy on that one :)

I'm really fond of a bunch of engineering documentaries and suchforth, because they get into the guts of a lot of the big machines and show the making of it. Or the design of it.

Way cool.

(also, hooray about disappearing!George)

Apparently so. Feeling sobered and reprieved at the moment - definitely a load off!

Callooh callay indeed, and frabjous to boot. Thanks for the shouted drink! Too many calories in Guinness, I'll have a vodka and tonic, thank you.

Enjoy next week and next weekend. Accept a BIG, joyous hug. And a fleeting Rome thought. And the hope that you may be in Melbourne soon, with 3-4 hours to spare in Brunswick.
