Les Georges sont perdu

Apr 03, 2009 16:44

OMG, with a side helping of Zs. Definitely no pneumothorax, 'cos no biopsy. Le Dodgy George has only upped and disappeared. "Resolved", they call it. Got through the needle-placing scans, all psyched up for the harpoon, then the doc came out & said go home. YAY :)

So. Still don't have a *why* for the not-breathing but at least it isn't something likely to metastasise. Doc's bet: inflammatory lesions, which may or may not link back to the bloody arthritis (which is where we were going before Dr It Must Be Asthma got her hands on me). I'll know more on Thursday.

Techwise: got the deuce today - a brightly lit room, and a good five minutes peekie time (the nurse prepped the wrong side of my chest, and got as far as powerup before noticing :) . They parked me inside the damn thing while it slowed, so I got a really good look through the slit at all the wires'n'tubes'n'geeky stuff, on slow and on still. (Haven't a clue what any of it did but hey. Machine guts rule, mkay :)

This one must be posh... it actually looked a bit more used and tissue-boxy, but had speakers connected to the Shielded Room [TM] instead of using pre-recorded voice commands; a bit like this... what one can only assume is considered Soothing!Blue on the inside, stuck out of a suitably impressive Big White Box, and went by the deliciously daft model name of SENSATION 64! (written on the front in big, friendly letters, of course ;p)

Gasp, wow. I'd love to see Siemens' catalogues; apparently one of their other popular models is the EMOTION. :)

Hubby as relieved as I am; took the rest of the day off and we've been poddling about looking at GPSs. Lunch at the National Portrait Gallery, impromptu Spare Tyre Change, weekly food shop and BEER. Am now signing off, taking my beer and my Big Box of Technic into a nice sunny spot, and attempting to build a car jack. BECAUSE :)
