Back again…and I desire for a long-term return. As I said in a post I made…now months ago, I hesitate on describing my current life when I am disappointed in how I am using it.
That is changing. Last year…around the end of spring and the start of summer, God was planting the seeds of an idea. An idea of what I was put here on Earth to DO. The ultimate purpose. Granted, it will still take a decade or two devoted to preparation for it, but… It answers several questions over my lifetime, all with the theme of: “What is the point of this, what is it leading to??” Unloading everything would be a huge post, but I am sure snippets will fall out here and there, as I share each piece.
Originally, I asked the question I think anyone does, presented with a seemingly odd and complex task: “Is this really from you, God, or a figment of my own desires?” As time went by, I realized I had indeed accepted it as authentic. I found myself drawn to certain authors, topics, stories, and reports. And those information sources would often fall into may lap when I was not even LOOKING for them. Now…and the reason for the lack of writing…has been the attitude of, “I do not want to live with the demands and responsibilities undertaking this plan will require.” But then, this is not about me. I do not have the strength. Jesus will fill the gaps and cracks.
I will not fall into the writing trap of the past. I have pages and pages of ideas I never fleshed out. Rather, I would stick any new insights at the end of the document for the sake of progression and continuity. No, I will revisit old stuff as it becomes relevant, but I need to record what I am struggling with, learning about, right now in the moment of powerful attention.
Well, enough of a comeback post for tonight. One item that WILL remain is my page of quotes. Though these are so far behind at this point, I think these are from books I read two summers ago!
Quotes from Ultimate Fantastic Four #7: God War:
-Johnny Storm: Hey, guys. What up?
-Lieutenant Lumpkin: Containment breach, kid. We’ve got intruders coming up the elevator.
-Johnny: Cool. We can help you dis-intrude.
-Lumpkin: Or you could get out of the line of fire and let us do our job.
-Johnny: But we’re super heroes, dog. The line of fire’s where we’re meant to be.
-Threshold: *Speaking to FF* Perhaps I was too QUICK to see enemies. Perhaps there was no HOSTILITY here at all.
-Thing: But we’ve got PLEANTY now. What FLAVOR would you like?
Graphic novel - Nightwing/Huntress by Devin Grayson
One is a former acrobat, whose life was changed by the death of his acrobat parents. The other is a troubled woman who became a crossbow-wielding vigilante after the violent death of her mob-boss father. Though they have a grudging respect for each other, the two heroes -
Nightwing and the Huntress - have never had a particularly close relationship…until now.
When an undercover cop is killed, apparently by a mob boss, the worlds of Nightwing and the Huntress collide as the two heroes approach the policeman’s brutal murder from very different angles - Nightwing looking for justice and the truth, Huntress looking for vengeance. But an unexpected romantic development may distract them from the case at hand…with fatal results.
Opposites really DO attract.
