“Hmmmm?” Blue eyes blinked, trying to clear away the grit of an unexpected nap. “You say something, Sasha?”
“I said, 'I think we should give up for the night. Do you want to?' ” The slim Russian man grinned. “If you do nott get some sleep, Katerina, you will end up wiring yourself into the machine by accident. You cannot fix it like that.”
Kate snorted, but yielded to his tugging on her elbow. She looked down at the chassis in front of her, feeling like she should remember something. Absently, she rubbed her left palm, trying to ease the ache that always flared when she thought of this project.
Sasha steered her away before she could reach for yet another wire. “You are worse than my baboushka. Always one more thing before she goes to bed.” He shoved her, gently, out the door, palming the lights, and leaving Project Longshot in darkness.
Teaser beginning that the bunny finally gave me. Apparently it likes the speedwriting prompts. :shrug: I try to avoid glancing at them, unless I think I will be able to sneak a bit of time to write. Maybe I should just let it chew on them anyway. Oh well. ^_^
Not a lot explained here. Just an intro. Hopefully I will get to write soon and not have to wait forever for the next bite. Where are my Have-A-Heart traps? ^_~
