{memes} Gratitude Project :: Day 23
Today I am grateful to Gregory Maguire and cold meds.
You may or may not have already read my earlier post with my initial reaction to finishing Out of Oz. Suffice it to say, I have been a blubbering idiot most of the day. I really just cannot explain what it is about this series of books that hit me so fucking hard. As soon as this book comes out in the trade paperback version, I will have my copy to complete my collection, and they will go in a place of prominence on my bookshelf in my room. Gelphie is endgame. Period.
Speaking of the cold meds… The shot of knock-off Nyquil I took last night? Knocked me flat on my ass and I passed the fuck out HARD. I don't remember even moving much last night, let alone coughing or anything like that. Nor do I remember dreaming much atm.
BUT I woke up this morning with absolutely NO voice. Yeah, I'm completely and utterly struck with laryngitis. And my cough has picked up again with lots of phlegmy crap to bring up each time. Ugh…
Our Thanksgiving dinner with Lorre's parents is being postponed until Friday, just to guarantee that everyone in this house that's sick is no longer contagious and spreading our cooties to her folks. We have movies, lots of other good food to get us through until we can have our turkey, and each other. It'll be all good.
And now, I think it's time to walk away from the computer for a while, as the nephew wants to go watch Cars 2 with me before bed. I think I can do some crocheting while we watch it.
