"Homecoming"
By A. Magiluna Stormwriter

Olivia's mouth tasted of brine, the harsh tang of expensive alcohol, and the ineffable flavor of desire and all Natalia could think was, I didn't even get to say 'hello', yet.

She'd expected Olivia to be angry with her, possibly even hate her. She definitely wasn't expecting to be kissed as if Olivia's very life depended on it.

When she finally came up for air, Olivia stared at her for a long moment. "Where the hell were you?"

"Finding…" What had she been finding? God? Herself? Peace? Natalia took a deep breath and offered a watery smile. "Finding my way home again. I'm so sorry, Olivia. I'll understand completely if you never want to see me again."

Whatever Natalia had expected in response, the bone-crushing hug wasn't anywhere near being on her list of possibilities. Her arms automatically wrapped around Olivia's waist, relishing in this closeness she'd missed when she'd run off in fear.

"How can I hate you?" The tearful words tugged at Natalia's heart. "I love you. I was miserable without you, but I never once stopped loving you."

"I love you, too," Natalia whispered, the words barely more than a breath expelled.
