Gimmie Gimmie
Back history (as opposed to thistory that has yet to occur): One of my best friends was married in Vages a couple of years ago. After the reception a couple of friends and I went for a walk through the some of the casinoes on the strip. When getting to the house of Blues, I saw that Me First and the Gimmies Gimmies were playing. They shouw had been going for about an hour or so so I did not bother but was bummed that I missed the show. Would I have left one of my best friends reception to go to the show. youbetcha. He would have done the same I suppose.
I began my friday morning wanting to find a burlesque show in Mpls and remembered that when the ex tried importing her emails from an Archive to a new machine, she put ALL of her emails in public folders. One of which was an invite to Lili's Burlesque show. I went online to find dates and times adn found they have a show at the Troc on 12/14. I clicked the buy tickets button and was taken to a ticket taker for more that just the Trocadero. Stumbled across the Cirque de Rouge, which apperently can no longer perform at the 331 club due to city ordinances.
After searching the history of Burlesque and finding nothing but Lili's (and the Suicide Girls opening for G'n'R which I 'm not going to) I found that Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies will be playing at the Triple Rock this Saturday (12/2). WooHooo!!!!! I've checked their site for some time waiting for a date but nothing.
I told Chuck, who introiduced me to them but he has a friends Birthday party that evening. I asked the gf. She said she would go but probably be wiped out before the nite was over. Asked JC and his wife and they passed. I've got the invite out to my brother-in-law who should be back from China on Wednesday. Will I go alone? If I have to, yes. Fortunately Kelly likes them and said she'll go.
