Returned my
Audible Audiobook today. It's too bad the audiobook is abridged.
I'm still not sure what to make of it (the audiobook, that is). I had originally assumed that the audiobook was made when the first edition of the book was published. And if you look at the Audible page, the copyright date is 1997. But the audiobook reads like there are cuts in it. My edition of the book (linked in amazon link), is the Hachette edition from 2014. So I guess I wonder if the audiobook recorded in 1997 was abridged from the first edition. Or if the edition I have is an expanded edition of the the original book published in 1997.
Still, I really feel like the audiobook needs to be re-recorded. Keep in Howard's reading of the Prologue, but the audiobook really should be redone to include everything in the currently available 2014 edition.
Other than that, it was a lot of fun re-reading the book with the audiobook. There's a lot in it about Starbucks early beginnings, Howard's early beginnings, and Howard's father that you won't find in
Onward.
