Something that was really unsatisfying about this audiobook is that it is abridged.  Or maybe it isn't "abridged", but the audiobook was recorded based on an older edition of the book.  The book was published in 1997, and then as a trade paperback by Hachette books in 2014.  It could be that Howard Schultz and/or his coauthor, Doris Jones Yang, expanded on the original book in several parts.

You can find the first edition on etsy or thiftbooks.  Although I'm not sure why someone would want to buy the original version (which has less content), other than for collector's value.

Something that is really nice about this audiobook though, is that Howard reads the prologue.  That is so cool.

Anyhow, if Onward is the story of Starbucks' awkward adolescence, where the company was striving to make its way and resist conformity and peer pressure, Pour Your Heart Into It is the story of Starbucks' infancy.  Starbucks' scrappy beginnings in the Pike Place Market in Seattle, and the merger of Il Giornale. I guess we're so used to thinking of Starbucks as this huge global brand, but for much of its history, Starbucks has been the underdog.
