With a defeated sign, she'd turned to go, no wiser than she had been when she'd entered the Beast's chambers.
And then she'd seen it - a single red rose. It was floating upright on a table, sheltered by a delicate glass cloche. It's head was drooping and several of its petals had fallen to the table. Belle had walked over to it, bent down, and peered through the cloche. As she watched, another petal dropped. Mesmerized, she lifted the glass to get a better look at the flower.

Decided to include gifs from the 2017 live action movie because this book is a spinoff of the live action movie, which itself was a spinoff of the 1991 animated film. :)
Probably the most idiotic Disney Princess decision, but God knows I've done a lot more stupid things in my life.
