This slightly rediculous poem came out as more than I expected...

It's a bit corny, and unrealistic in terms of "the idea of love" vs. "the reality of love", and how things really play out in real life... But, I think it's okay as a poem.

The love of my life, you are my light...
...And my darkness.
Yet my eyes always delight upon seeing you,
And heart still leeps, when my lips find reason to touch you.
My only joys are formed out of your nearness,
My only sorrows lie the wake of your leaving.
And with open palms, open eyes,
and an unsheltered heart I beg forgiveness.

I can not know the depths of your misery,
but I will still wish for eternity, so that I can kiss you forever,
and replace all your grieving with rejoicing, until you are overflowing.

Dearest love, if I wait forever,
will I once again know the sweetness of your love?
If I confess myself to you, my undying love,
will you show mercy on my heart and release me from this torturous state?

I am my beloved's... I can love no other,
For I love you completely,
Unrestrained and untempered by life's afflictions.
I can know no warmth nor hope nor light without you,
as my heart follows quietly with you where ever you go.

Dear self: A little less "lost-ness" would be good... Try coming back to center please?

marriage, poetry, sad things
