How are things?

It was brought to my attention that I don't really post on Live Journal. Here goes:

Ivan is currently 5 months and frustrated that he isn't mobile yet. He really wants to GO. He can actually scoot backwards, but has yet to figure out the forward thing. He adores the swing that a good friend just passed down to us, and is really enjoying LOUD toys, as well as his favorite Glow Worm.

In other news, I'm still looking for work. I have loads of applications to put in at schools, but I need results from the latest test I took first.

I am hoping to teach next year, but the further this summer progresses, the more concerned I am becoming about that actually happening.

The garden is alive with baby veggies. We have multiple crook-necked squash, baby silk heads (corn), Basil and oregano growing like wild, Purple hull peas sprout, potatoes blooming, and our cucumbers are blossoming as well. Unfortunately, we have only 1 tomato. It's finally turning red, but it's the only one. I need to do some research on when to harvest onions, garlic, and potatoes. Unfortunately, I discovered too late that they are a FALL crop. They seem to be growing alright anyway. We have had issues with leaf-footed bugs. I didn't think of it when they first started showing up, but when I see one now, I pluck them from the juicy leaves, and drop them in a jar with alcohol saturated cotton balls. It hurts me a little, to think of them dying, but then I look at my plants, and the speckled leaves that have been sucked dry.

Though the times when Ivan is asleep are filled with tons of important tasks, I will try to continue LJ post about how things are going here, for anyone who is interested.
