I woke up with a cold yesterday morning, and didn't go to the toddlers' birthday party that I was supposed to go to because there were gonna be little babies there and I didn't want to give them my germs. I did go out to meet my friend Shana to give her some quotes for the article she's writing on the Bloomington poetry scene. Then I came home and didn't get much done with the rest of the evening.

I'm feeling worse today, but there is stuff I have GOT to get done. The cats are all out of canned food, for example, so I have to go buy that or face Kitty Mutiny. It's not a horrible terrible serious illness or anything, by any stretch of the imagination, just a little sniffle/sneeze/scratchy throat thing. But it's enough to make me want to do nothing more than curl up in a blanket and watch some mindless TV, and I can't do that. I have so much I need to get done before leaving town for Thanksgiving. Argh.

If I call in sick to work tomorrow morning, and then just go in for my 6-10 pm shift on the reference desk, maybe I can get a little extra sleep and maybe work on the house cleaning a bit and get the oil changed in the car. I have one meeting tomorrow I really shouldn't miss, but if I have to, I guess I have to. We'll see how much I get done today/tonight and how I feel tomorrow... if I feel worse tomorrow than I do today, I don't think I can make it through an 8 hour day, though 4 hours on the desk might not be too bad (it should be really really quiet anyway, as a lot of the undergrads have undoubtedly already left for break).

Well, sitting here blathering away isn't getting anything any closer to being done. I'd better find a piece of paper and make a list and head out into the cold rain to run some errands. Whee. :P

health, work, to do lists
