bad news/good news

The not so good:
  1. It's been pouring rain all day. I think I better go out to Home Depot and buy an ark-building kit. Plus, the damp spot on my dining room ceiling is getting bigger. Eek.
  2. I thought for SURE my copy of Despite Our Differences would arrive today. Nope. What's the point of pre-ordering if they don't even ship it till two days after the release date, and you don't get it until the damn thing's been out for a week? Yeesh.
  3. I dragged myself out in the pouring rain to check my p.o. box and there was nothing in it. Nothing. Not even a rejection slip.
The better:
  1. That time I adjusted the satellite dish a week or so ago seems to have helped. I've had only minor interference even though it's been raining all day, sometimes fairly hard.
  2. I got my ticket for the Indianapolis Indigo show in yesterday's mail.
  3. One of the morning-show guys at WTTS is interviewing Amy Ray on Monday morning. You can listen online if you wanna, http://wttsfm.com/. It's at 7 am Eastern time (ugh ... and here Monday is my late-shift day and I was going to sleep late, oh well!) Here's the announcement.
  4. I have first-drafted 4 poems in the last 8 days. That's a lot, for me. Usually if I get one workable first draft a week, I feel like I'm keeping a fairly steady pace.

I'm sitting on the loveseat, looking out the window at the rain. Leaves are starting to fall. After this storm system gets done with us, I have a feeling it's going to feel like full-on autumn.
