DéspairsRay live! FTW!
Yesterday, November 10 2006, DéspairsRay played in backwatercountry! FTW!!! So, naturally, I went to it :p. Splitting things in three for people who can't be bothered to read the before and after show parts :p.
So, the day began with getting up too fucking early because I had class (Japanese). After that I just went home, got changed and traveled to Utrecht, where the concert was going to be held. Met up with shuukyou (Am), who was all 'AAAAH!!' because she was there before me and didn't know where I was XD;;;.
When I arrived, we went looking for the huge group (I saw shan_jisatsu (Juu) being a dork, so we found them pretty quickly :p). There were come very comedic people in the group too who were wearing 'I eat lolitas' jackets. Totally for the win! XD We kinda hung around at the station until the group was more or less complete (I think there were about 20 people O_o;), after which we went in the general direction of the Tivoli, the venue Despa would be playing ^^.
It was 16.00 when we arrived (we got lost a bit at times), so we hung around the streets being dorks (I think Juu has evidence). There were crazy people in the group! One of them was from t3h UK! She was FTW! XD
After a while, some of us got hungry and stuff, so we went to the Mac (yeah, I know, bad :p). For food and toiletbreak :p. The toilets were fucking gross ¬_¬;.
But we left pretty quickly, making the entire customer base go 'O_O;;' and stuff :). It was fun :D.
After that, we went back and did some more pretty worthless stuff like waiting. I was waiting for Rieks (mah Japanese teacher) and Réne (a fried of Rieks) to arrive. They did arrive in time (which was good XD) but they were a bit late because of food intake and looking for the venue :o.
So, we waited some more for the doors to open. And then we all RUSHED in of sorts :p. Brought our stuff to the guarded wardrobe area. Took another ages. Am decided to go off and purchase loot. I wanted it too so I went for loot after getting our stuff to the people of the wardrobe area.
We kinda lost sight of the guys, but found them back again when we went inside of the stage area :). The cheeky bastards were sitting ON the stage with their beer XDDD. Anyway, we chatted a bit and then there was an opening act.
There was an opening act called 'Limbogott' or somesuch O_o. German, metal-ish band. They were too bad. Not as good as Despa (duh!), but they had their moments. It was a 6 guy band if I recall correctly and they were decked out like crash victims (well, the two singers were. The guitarist was just dressed in normal shirt and jeans. Couldn't see the other three guys too well). mugenjouproject (Lin) said one of the guys had bad make up. I believe as I didn't see much of the right side of the stage XD;;;.
So. After the opening act, the curtains were drawn. Am and me decided to go sit on the stage because it was getting too hot at the front row x-x. We kinda looked as the roadies readied everything and the crowd went nuts when they hear the bass, guitar and drums being played on. Crazy people.
I saw the set list of sorts :3. I rule! We chatted with people while waiting for the roadies to be done. Then we went off the stage and stood there, left of the stage at front row :p.
So, the set list was this of sorts:
1. Dears
2. In vain
3. Infection
4. Rebirth
5. Gärnet
A bit of MC-ing
6. New song
7. ???
8. Fuyuu shita risou
9. Yami ni furu kiseki
10. Abel to Caine (<3! Total rabu!)

It was so cool :3. Zero kept on smiling and such and it looked so cute XDDD. Hizumi sounds really good live! I feel sorry for Tsukasa, who has to be behind the drums all the time and can't walk around :(. On the other hand, maybe he doesn't like being groped, in which case it's not a bad thing :p.
I got to grope Zero (twice!) and Karyu :p. They moved around a lot and did that spinning thing guitarists and bassists are fond to do when they're still young and stuff XD. It was really cool.
Hizumi is really good live. Not just voice wise, but also audience interaction wise. He can really work the crowd (okay, so that's easier when they're about 99.9% all fans of your band, but still :p).
The all moved around a lot during the concert. Karyu and Zero traded places during two or three occasions and Karyu is pretty cool from up close XD. Like Zero, he too came very close to where I was standing (so that was when I got to grope him :p. I never go for the crotch :p. That's just gross, unless it's like, your lover or something O_o;\. Not to mention it just seems so not done o_o).
There was a fan (not the human kind) onstage too. It blew Zero's hair and stuff. Made him look pretty cool. Kinda like one of those shampoo commercials :p. He was cooler than shampoo commercials though :p.
Eh, what else. Eh, they threw picks in the audience. Zero did this 'put pick between lips and blow it to audience' thing, which looked pretty cool :p. I didn't catch one though (was not near enough to catch anything). Too bad, because the picks looked pretty cool :3.
After Forbidden, they went offstage. The song was great end :3. It is a good song anyway, but live it was GREAAAAAT!!!!!! XDDDD
We looked for the guys after that, and it turned out they were still there and shouting for encore. 'Motte koi'. So we went back inside! And shouted along! :D
And we were rewarded with three more songs!!! WHAT THE FUCK! They're generous! :D

Couldn't really figure out what the songs of the encore was, but it was good :3. The concert ended with that. I had a fun time and such, so all's well :3
Anyway, after the concert, Rieks commented that the show was great and that he'd like to go to more Jrock concerts (I intend to drag him along again XD). And he intends to drag me along to concerts of his bands XD! Yay! Win-win situation! :D
Rieks and Rene also tried to get everything signed by telling the peeps at merch that the members were prolly all homesick and would like to talk in Japanese and be understood XD! The cheeky bastards! It didn't work out though, as merch wasn't willing to co-operate :p. (Not that I blame them).
So, since Am needed to catch a train back to Belgium, we wanted to go back soon. But Rieks wanted to take his beer outside, which the bouncer didn't like (laws and stuff). So we stayed inside while Rieks finished the beer :p.
We talked about a bunch of random stuff. And then we went outside and walked towards the station. I was sure walking around with no coat on would get me all sick today, but I'm not, just a bit hoarse and my neck hurts from headbanging to Despa :p.
Well, turned out Am missed her train, so we had to wait until 3 AM for her train to come :p. It was already midnight by that time XD. So we split up. The guys went back home and I'd turn out waiting 3 hours for a train.
We met up with Juu and co again while waiting. She caught Tsukasa's beaten up drum stick XD Whoo! Woot for Juu! :D The stick was all beaten up and banged on X_x;;;. Sheesh! What the HELL does Tsukasa do with it??? Gnaw at it during breaks O_O;?.
Anyway, they left and another group (consisting of Lin and girl decked in h.Naoto who, coincidentally also studies at the same uni as I do). We goofed off some more and Lin was 'OMG! I thought you were a guy when we talked on elojay!!! XoX/' XDDD;;;. FTW! XD
They left too eventually (but not before sharing our pain :p) and Am and me were stuck on the station for another 2 hours X_x.
I decided I needed some food, so we went to BK and they upgraded my food at no extra cost :p. Am wrote down the setlist I had written on my hand! :3 Then we were kicked out of the BK because they were closing :(.
We waited and printed out some pics while waiting :3. I took some pics during the concert, but they turned a bit blurry (I'm not a champ with digital cam. I'm better with analog :/). So yeah. Will put them up, but dunno when :p.
On the way home, Am made me read stuff while she went through the stuff I got for her. She also said something about her bread (her lunch) being all icky now. But she ate it anyway XD. And then she said something about 'hesp' (ham in Belgian) and I thought she was talking about 'gesp' (clasp in Dutch) and we had fun with words :p.
Eventually, the train arrived at my stop, but it turned out they would just stand there for a few minutes and then go to the scheduled stop. Pissed me off since that one was closer to home then the actual stop -_-.
I walked the rest of the way home, in the cold and rain (wonderful end of the day :p) and arrived at 5.30 AM or something XD;;;. Took a shower and slept until 2AM :3. Now I feel all okay again :3.

Left me way porer than I started that night :p.
I wasn't too happy with the girl who stood next to me during the concert o_o;. She was behaving very very weirdly O_o;;;. It kinda scared me... And Juu has to stand next to me too next time! I demand eet!!!!
Also, the girls at Zero's bit of the stage were in general all kinda scary o_o;;;. Except for that Asian girl with the Vivienne Westwood accessories ^^. She was nice :3. We chatted a bit before Despa played ^^.
I had a lot of fun in spite of all that :3. I can't wait to go to another concert ^^. It was fun to hang out with Rieks and Rene outside of uni-setting ^^\. Also very much fun to see Am and the rest of the online people again :3. I want to do this again! (But without the 'waiting until 3 AM for train and being at home 5 AM). And I want to catch a pick some day! :D Or a drumstick (it better not hit my eyes or something though :p).
