Caffeinated like Godzilla

It's a coffee morning, and I feel like running through the house making noise and jumping around. I love caffeine.

So yesterday I "finished" the Lucy and Aden picture. Aden's sweater still needs an application of color, but I have no idea what color I want to use. It will have to be a mid-value color, as his slacks are gray and Lucy's hair is black- too strong a color will create a vortex in the center of the image from which your eyes will not return. I figure maybe a blue or a marine green for his sweater. I'll probably go with the blue as I've already added blue highlites to the pinstripes in his button-down shirt. But I have to say I LOVE the way it came out! I now have the starts of a strong series of images related to Manic. Now I need to invest in mounting and matting the bigger pieces so that they stay clean and protected. When it comes time to apply for art school, I'm going to have a portfolio that blows everyone away. I want to be the premier student of the freshman class.

Tonight the TSR is playing at Maxwell's in Hoboken. It's a great venue, and if you can make it out, by all means, do! It's $8 at the door. TSR goes on at 9pm.

I've also made contact with some of the chicks I hung out with in high school. It's cool to catch up with people, see where they are and what they're doing. I have to admitt it's a bit conforting to see that I've not the only one whose plans were derailed since graduation. It's like Mariane told me, life is going to throw obstacles at you, and all you can do is enjoy the trip. It really is about the journey.

God, do I feel hyper. Perhaps I'll take a shower now, eat, drink more coffee and start that charcoal drawing present. Or maybe I'll chase the cats through the house shouting and beating a spoon against a pan. Anything is possible today.
