I'm truly convinced that Burke and Stets were right and that Identity Control Theory actually works.

If I am evaluated differently by others--positively or negatively--than how I evaluate and see myself, I experience negative emotions because the two views don't match up. This happens pretty often with me... and more often with being viewed more positively than I see myself than anything else. :\

With that said, I think it's also unfortunate that I fail in classes where I actually DID learn the material, and I was just too lazy to do all the work required. But there it is.
