Jonah Beck and Cyrus Goodman

Well, I'm really enjoying the Disney Channel show Andi Mack. :) Funny how I didn't think I'd get into anything other than the movie Descendants 2 on Disney now that Girl Meets World is over. But leave it to Lauren Tom (Kevin Tran's mama on Supernatural) to pull me into another show.

Spoilers Ahead, but trust me they are SOOOOO worth it!!!!! *gives you best Sam Winchester and/or Kim Possible Puppy-Dog face/pout* *tries not to laugh gleefully while rubbing hands together in an evil manner* Yes, I'm really tired, just go with it, huh? LOL

So Andi Mack is about a 13-yr-old girl who finds out her older sister Bex (Rebecca) is actually her mother and her parents Celia (played by Lauren Tom) and Ham are actually her grandparents. Not only that, but she's dealing with regular teenage problems, like her first crush who is a boy by the name of Jonah Beck.

Her best friends Buffy Driscoll and Cyrus Goodman are very supportive when they find out Andi is going through all this, but they have their own 'parent' problems as well. Cyrus's parents are divorced and Buffy's mom is overseas so it's just her and her dad for 6 months at least.

So, Andi is quickly swept up in family drama/issues and has little to no time to really get to know Jonah even though he convinces her to join his Ultimate Frisbee team. That doesn't stop Jonah becoming friends with Andi's friends. Specifically Cyrus. :)

Cyrus is SOOOO nervous around Jonah at first. Like awkward, sweaty-palms type nervous. And he gets really excited when he and Jonah go on a double-date with Jonah's on-again/off-again girlfriend Amber and a girl named Iris. Things quickly fizzle out between Cyrus and Iris (it's a bit forced I think--and seriously the matching names? *barf* Disney-- just *barf*) and soon Cyrus is going on another 'date' (solo this time) with Jonah.

And Jonah is very much the (in my opinion) closeted jock, complimenting Cyrus and trying to play it cool while wanting to hang-out with Cyrus a lot if not all the time. He doesn't like talking about his feelings and isn't too bent out of shape when he and Amber break up for the first time. He even tells Cyrus that he really doesn't need a girlfriend right now. And he seems to enjoy Andi's company as well, but I'm not sure in a boy/girl, "I like you/you like me--let's be a couple" sort of way. It's more of a "let's be best bros for life, Andi-Man!" Because he does come up with that nickname for Andi once she joins the Ultimate Frisbee team. And YEAH...it's every girl's DREAM to constantly be referred to like one of the guys around their crush, right? ;) Poor Andi... But yeah, I personally, definitely get more of a: "OMG, I want to be in a relationship with you so bad, Cyrus. But nobody can know except Buffy, okay? I'm still kind of in the closet and I don't know how the hell to do any of this without losing people in my life I care about" type of vibe from Jonah.

Now as a m/m slash fangirl I may be shipping Jonah and Cyrus when there really is nothing there. But the writers...? It's like they're giving out candy at a parade or something, yet leaving us questioning like crazy. So I'm doing my best not to get my hopes too high, yet continuing to ship these two because they're adorable and very easy to ship. <3 :)
