Musical pirates
I watched the version of Pirates of Penzance the ABC had on at the weekend. In spite of the claims of yourtv.com.au it was not the Simon Gallagher/Jon English version, but a 2006 version by Opera Australia with Anthony Warlow as the Pirate King, doing it in a Captain Jack Sparrow kind of way (both costuming and body language/phrasing)
It wasn't quite as acrobatic as the SG/JE version, (which I liked enough to get on DVD) or quite as humorous, but still entertaining to watch.
I wonder how many different arrangements there are of it though, as at least one of the songs was different.
