Governer Christie is a douchebag...

...so...I just found out that my school district will be cutting anywhere from 21-80 positions (depending on whether or not the budget passes...which it won't since most of the town chooses to send their children to private schools, and would rather their tax dollars NOT be spent on public education).

And that means...non-tenured teachers go first.

Sadly, Georgia seems to be following suit. They have a job until June..30th, or something like that, and then no more. Really people? Because you can't budget 120 million bucks, the education system of this state must be stupider?? REALLY? Cause last I checked, we were rivaling for the 50th spot.

Our newly elected governor has been clear that he has absolutely NO LOVE for public school, and no respect for teachers in general...I can't begin to tell you how many different ways he's trying to screw us over (i.e. cutting our pensions, increasing the number of years it takes to get tenure from 3 to 5, budget cuts, etc). Because we are all apparently the spawns of satan.

And, yeah, clearly this means my life gets fucked up royally.

But, forget about me and my hard working co-workers for a second...doesn't he understand that he's affecting these children's FUTURES?

*sigh*

I certainly didn't vote for him...and I can't believe how many teachers (who were well aware of his thoughts on public education) actually VOTED for him. The sheer stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me...

Right?? I feel like every time our governor is referenced because Georgia has not gotten smarter in the umpteen years he's been around. We had a furlough day...in the middle of midterms, here in public college.

Here's his latest budget cuts which boggle the mind. He's....special. And people keep voting for this idiot. I so wanted the other guy to win because he had legitimate ideas that would have done something. *sigh*

My current plan is to either (a) run away and live in a cave by the sea with my cats, emerging periodically to purchase chocolate and cat food or (b) marry someone rich so I can travel as much as I like, and devote the rest of my free time to pursuing a career as a writer.

Yeah. Either one of those should do the trick...

[/end fantasy]

*sigh*

I hate people. I really do...

I'll take option B if I never have to be around said rich person and just live on their money.

What? I can be a gold digger just as good as anyone else.
