SR Harris and crafts

I just wanted to make a note for those in the area interested in fabric that SR Harris currently has a $3/yd silk bin. Its next to the cutting table, just past the thread. There are several colors of gauze, some light weight prints, a couple slubby heavier fabrics; and a couple smooth, heavier weighted silks.
Yesterday, I went and bought 8 yards of a nice medium weight blue and white pattern (which i plan on dying a solid color, though i'm not sure what color yet...i'm open to suggestions).  I was very tempted to buy more, but i know my fabric lust knows no bounds, and i had a budget :)

I hope to make a dress or two for fest next year, since renaissance costuming has been tickling my brain on and off over the past couple years. I think that with the fabric i have in my stash plus the silk i just bought, i should be able to put together some nice ones. Now, i just need time to work on those projects rather than house projects...

Also in crafting news, my rug for the breezeway is one side from being done (it ended up being an octagon rather than a square). I'll try to dig out a camera and post pictures. i'm rather proud of it. I haven't measured it, but i think it's nearly 6ft across. Generally, it was a car project for when i was being driven somewhere, so i have no idea how much time i put into it, but it's the biggest project that i've actually finished so far.

For my next crochet project, i have a couple options. i want to make a lace tablecloth for the dining room (rectangular), i want to make ornaments to give to relatives as presents this year for the holidays, and i want to make a big batch of easy slippers to keep in the breezeway for anyone who may need them (guests, etc.)
