I apologise in advance for the Americans who are going to read this

Guess what I had the pleasure of reading today?

And, oh man is it a doozy.

Please note that the comments I make here are dedicated to the politicians not the American people per se.

Just one question for American Politicians: Where in the bloody name of fuck did you get the idea that you actually understand how we think, why we do things, or what our views of the oh-so-great nation of America are?

I've never had the pleasure of watching The Border, so I can't comment of whether or not the show does commit some anti-American propaganda, but I do know of a couple of shows that I love to bits that happen to be about American politics and media; The Colbert Report and The Daily Show, both of which are American. You guys can make fun of yourselves just fine without our help. So what exactly is your definition of Anti-American media?
And come on! You're attacking Little Mosque On The Prairie? Now that is absolutely stupid. It's a comedy about Muslims, of course they are going to eventually talk about the US 's unjustified fear of anyone brown.

Also, I love the fact that in Canada we have the freedom to kick out any Prime minister if he is not listening to the will of the people. I like knowing that we can override their decisions if, for example, the Right Honourable Stephen Harper decides to -shall we say, invade a certain middle eastern country under the pretense of seizing armaments of great damage but not caring to annonce this to us until after they invaded. Just sayin'.

Sure Canadians like Obama; we have had a lot of hopes for that guy. Why would we care about the president of the United States so much? Because every little fuck-up an American president makes, we suffer for it. If anything a president does offends another economically powerful country our economy is also affected.

We elected Harper due to the fact that the other candidates were even bigger idiots, except for Ignatieff but he never really cared about Canada to begin with. I, personally hate the great Harper Seal, and I can pinpoint exactly why I do. He reminds me too much of those American capitalists and for someone whose views fall into the exact same place on the political spectrum as Sweden's government, you can see why this would be annoying.

But God, I never expected anyone to stoop so low as to treat the Canadian military and our money like just some expendable war asset. How little value do you place on the lives of the canadians that died during the peace missions in the middle-east? If we say something that dares besmirch the name of the almighty America, don't you dare ask us why.

Inferiority complex? Now this is an interesting accusation. Considering the fact that America has never let go of the whole 'manifest destiny' issue ever since pre-confederation days and uneducated foreigners  just assume that Canada would be better off if we were assimilated by the United States. We are referred to as things like 'America's Backyard' and 'Little America.' No wonder that most Canadians get a sort of national identity crisis. I even had one! But Canadians are Canadians. We are not Americans despite what most people think: Our political values are different, we believe that everyone should have free health-care, our school curriculum teaches us what happens in other countries then how Canada was effected by it and affected others instead of just teaching about what happen in our own country, we accept immigrants with open arms and encourage cultural diversity, and we know that our military has always been great but we don't feel the need to  rub it in everyone's faces.

In short, I love Canada but I know that we as a nation, like all other nations, have faults. However; these leaks paint a picture of an America that is utterly ignorant of who Canadians really are and are judgmental, petty and unaware of their own faults because they are too busy looking into the affairs of other countries that really don't concern them. It feels like we are just trying to get dressed and undressed everyday in peace while Uncle Sam tries to catch a glimpse through a peep hole. I know this isn't true about most Americans but right now it's those intolerable ones who are in the spotlight and all of this is directed at them.

tldr; Mind your own fucking business, America.

no seriously it's a real eyesore, the american embassy in ottawa is one fu
