YAY FOR JAPAN! I can't believe you'll be staying in Idabashi! We should totally meet up when I'm in tokyo (i'll be staying edogawabashi) this summer (probably may/juneish). Idabashi and Edogawabashi are like one or two subway stops away.
Where will you be studying in japan? And what classes? It all seems so excited :3 I wish I could study abroad in japan ;_;
Really?! That would be great! Are you just going to be visit for traveling/fun, or family, or work?
I'll be studying at Sophia University, at their Shinjuku-area campus. As for classes, I'm not 100% sure right now, apparently they don't let you sign up until you get there. ;_; But I know for sure I'll be taking Japanese, a class for my Japanese minor (can be pretty much anything related to Japan), and a history class to complete more "Core" university requirements. For my "extra" class I'm thinking of taking either intro to macroeconomics or intro to sociology. It will be a pure elective, so just something fun and interesting. :)
My bf and I are going just for fun/vacation. We're usually there for 2 weeks, but it all depends on our schedules this summer. I'm more in a time crunch though because I have to start studying for my GREs now. ;_;
I'm not familiar with japanese schools, but I've definitely seen one or two universities in the tokyo area. Both of your extra class choices sound fun, especially sociology! I took macroecon in high school and it was pretty interesting.
omggg I bet you're really excited for japan! It's not too far away!
Ugggg GRE's! I have to start studying for those soon! (both the general and the psych one, blrrggg). But I'll put it off for as long as humanly possible! XD
Yes, I'm SOOOO EXCITED! I'm starting to get a little nervous too, though. It's a pretty big commitment for someone as indecisive and generally home-attached as me, haha. It will be good for me to really get out of my comfort zone for a while, though.
I think it's a really good idea to get out of your comfort zone. Hopefully Tokyo won't be too intimidating. Everyone pretty much keeps to themselves and most foreigners aren't really noticed.
