I have officially reserved a room in a guest house! It's a shared room, so I'm probably going to go insane, but it's only 40,000 yen a month so I can't really argue. I'll be short on money while I'm there, and I want to really enjoy myself, so it's probably best to skimp on rent as much as I possibly can. It's in Itabashi-ku, Tokyo, and looks pretty cute. There will be a communal kitchen where I can cook lots of vegan goodies. And I've been looking up lots of Japanese and Korean adaptable recipes so that I can eat yummy things while I'm there.
I'm going to apply for my Visa on Friday. I'm so excited! :D
The last thing I have to do is buy my plane ticket, but I'm a bit at a loss about that. I'm wondering if I want to leave just a little earlier. My original plan was to:
3/1-3/2 - Plane flight to Japan
3/2-3/8 - recover from jetlag, stay in hostels
3/8-3/24 - travel to Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, Osaka, etc con mis amigos
3/24-4/15 - Settle in to my apartment, take placement test, sign up for classes
4/15 - 7/31 MY SUFFERING BEGINS! (aka classes start)
But now I'm thinking I might want more free time in Tokyo, since I tend to become really boring and very hermit-like when school starts (trying to keep my GPA above 3.7 is gonna be soooo hard with all those distractions, though! ;_;) So I'm considering going maybe a week earlier? But then that seems so SOON so I'm not sure!
Plus, my grandparents want me to visit them in Florida for 5 days before I go to Japan, which is going to take more time from the time I have left with my mom before I leave. :( Arrgghh decisions!
ALSO: My order from Modcloth came in, and I'm going to keep the following items:
I'm super pleased with all of them. :D And they came in at about $110 total.
I also just ordered these guys:
Yayayay!
Oh, and it's my birthday in 2 days! I'm having a lolita-party on Friday at JapanTown, I'm super psyched. <3 It will include BTSSB, BPN, Kinokuniya, Indian Food and good friends. All of my favorite things! Other than that I'm not really doing much. I'm going to hike with my mom on my birthday, then go out to dinner with her, and probably drink a little too much when I get home. Nothing too dramatic, no 21 shots for me. ;) And I'll have various other smaller get-togethers with other friends, but no single "official" birthday party.
Regardless, this was my little advert for my loli party. Although done in photobucket editing, I'm still proud of it, haha.
