Mild winter up here

I look at the lack of snow and I wonder if we will have the sap season before time. My father-in-law is set on a starting point like an olympic athlete, ready for the triathlon: run to gather the sap, boil to get the syrup, boil even more for the toffee, he's a pro.

So my plan to buy and give donkeys to that French annoying donkey breeder is still active. He will adapt his pens? corrals? -gee, I haven't talk equine for too long- to be ready to receive new -probably sick- comers as soon as the ground is a bit dry. I know it means a few more months to wait but I still think I'm lucky I found someone ready to do so. Quebecers are lazy animal protectors, well, don't we have two horse slaughters out of three that are still opened in Canada? stories I've heard about donkeys going to slaughter were all at ridiculous price. the worst being a family of three donkeys going to their atrocious death for a total of 60$. If it is true I might be able to pay for a gelding(?) neutering(?) because those who end there are usually young male. Thsi is only in July but I'm on a donkey forum and some days I just want to do my share something like... yesterday!
