My conversation this morning:

I walk into class.

Fifth Grade Girl: Why you gotta wear those weird boots?
Me: Um... The first graders like them...

Later that day:

I'm wearing velvet, and first graders keep trying to pet me like a cat.

First Grade Girl: Do you have a boyfriend?
Me: No.
First Grade Girl: Why not?
Me: ...
First Grade Girl #2: Because she's a kid like us.

So I guess I've found my level...
