Ymir VS Gem Joust which is older *settled*

Feb 20, 2009 08:58

The question has gone back and forth as to which event is indeed older. Wind Masters folks of course claim Ymir is older and Caer Mearians Claim that indeed Gem Joust is older.
Let’s put this puppy to rest shall we. Here it is full color glossy goodness with circles and arrows and paragraphs above each one explaining what each one is to be used as evidence for us )

To continue the 'logic':

To consult the flawed OP: http://op.atlantia.sca.org/op_award.php?award_id=624

We see that in ancient times the Dread King Cuan, of the line of Anton thought the baronage of Windmaster's Hill to be in such a untrustworthy and unrealiable state that he appointed Ceridwen to forever watchover this unruly and backwards people. Thus the claim could be advanced that since that time all the baronge of Windmaster's Hill have been but false impersonators and pretenders to the seat of Ceridwen.

As a knight dubbed by Cuan and charged to carry out the King'd Justice it seems only right to restore to Ceridwen that which has been taken by imfamy.

It is true that some small ancestoral lands are found in that country and through the Sallic law I could also claim those rents due.

In addition it occurs to me that the former Baroness Aileen is of the house of Sir Forgal, to whom I am also bound by family tradition and custom. Perhaps my claim to the baronial seat could be traced that way....

If one was willing.

WHERE IS THAT CHICKEN?!?!?!?!?!

I am also tied to the same house of the right and true Sir Forgal through Count Kai and I say that Girrard is my rightful and truthful heir. There is some question as to whom his mother is but he is my boy.

Dont forget also that Ceridwen the lovely and just was in fact the SECOND viccar or windmasters Ysar being the first. Ysar mother of Martin who is also your brother.

Therefore we rightfully lay claim to both you and your house, but will settle out of court for College of Yarnvid, Melisent la Ruse, everyother weekend rights to Fritz and three healthy chickens

I think you have that wrong, Cousin. Ysar gifted Martin as a sweetner to the deal when she handed over all rights of Vicarship to Anton. It being such a little thing, my liege Anton simple forgot about as it was beneath his station.

As to fair Melisent, come and try and take her.

As for Fritz...what is your address? Will UPS ship live cargo?

So... Gaston the Bastard had a Bastard?

And when were you pregnant, m'lord? Must be indeed miraculous birth for a good sir to produce a child of unknown maternity...

Good Sir, I believe your heralds have lead you astray. I have the full support of Baroness Lucia, last ruler before King and Church thrust this horrible mantle of "Vicar" on the kind and gentile Ceridwen. You also note I have the full support of my direct predecessor, Baron Gaston, and thus can claim the throne of the Premiere Barony of Atlantia by not one but two distinct lines.

That said, by your own admission you say you are of the House of Anton, a fine Duke of my own lands. I shall have to confer with His Grace to ensure that all your rents are in order.

However, the subject of your own assent to baronage has come into question as of late, and I must press the claim of my own house, De La Flamme. While they plead with me not to start a war on their behalf, there is some amount of question as to the succession after Baron Corby and Baroness Thjora. Know that I shall have the Holy Office of the Inquisition (aka The Atlantia Commission) take a look into your activities shortly...

And again, I state my rightful claim, this time through Eldred, of the House of Tremayne, of which my knight Duke Anton is a member. Eldred did make me a honorary citizen of Windmaster's Hill while Baron (while you were no doubt suckling at the tit of your questionable Mother) of those lands, obivously intending by that act that I would return, like Ulysses, to claim what that which is mine. Repent and give over!

But Sir, you obviously have again not done your research, which is rare for a member of the Order of the Laurel. You see, in sub-basement D of the Old Executive Baronage Building, cell 5, foot locker 12 Alpha, you'll see that the newest version of the Baronial Charter (once the ink dries and I put it there), clearly states that only *subjects* of Windmasters' Hill may become Baron. Master Eldrid, while a great and just Baron, has done your claim grievous harm by granting you citizenship and removing you from the ranks of my fellow subjects.

Furthermore, as of the last baronial meeting, we've instituted a maximum age for the Baronage, just as His Holiness Jon Paul caped the voting age of Cardinals at 80. If you were getting awards in the way backs from Baron Eldrid, you are way past your "best use by" date.

Ah, but clearly you underestimate me and my just claim!

I again prove my worth by ancient text, rather than neifarious plot and half-dried ink, by this document:

http://flickr.com/photos/89116136@N00/3295226673/sizes/l/

As you may clearly read (or perhaps have a clerk read for you, being from Gaston's stock, obivously illterate) only a _Subject_ of Windmaster's Hill may compete to be Champion.

Since I competed to be the Champion of Windmaster's Hill of my beloved cousin Aileen, at the event where the Blessed Ceridwen did recieved the Holy Order of the Pelican, you can see in fact how the fates did align to one day set the coronet of Windmaster's at my feet.

Thus I am both Subject and Citizen of Windmaster's Hill, and lawful Protector of Ceridwen's Claim.
