Not only was the evacuation warning area that was uncomfortably close to where I live rescinded yesterday, today we have quite reasonable temperatures (even slightly below average) and breathable air, because mumble mumble meteorology. Things are still on fire, of course, but the fire perimeters don't seem to be growing that much, especially not ( Read more... )

ETA 4:45 PM: Santa Clara County Evacuation Warnings lifted for the #CZULightningComplex by CALFIRECZU. Phew. Obviously, not a permanent "all clear" since the fire itself is only 17% contained, but definitely a relief. The "yellow area" referred to below no longer appears on the map.
