So I installed the Facebook typing test application the other day. I knew I typed more quickly than anyone I've ever known, but I didn't expect to make it all the way to #1 on the board (I was #4 yesterday...) and I had to mark this moment down in pointless history. Of course, this is just typing a bunch of random words with no logic to them, which means typing speeds are naturally inflated compared to reality. When you begin to exceed 80 wpm or so, I'd say you're typing more quickly than you can come up with a coherent thought, so any extra typing speed is pointless. But it is nonetheless cool. (Most of my other attempts to beat this and match the INSANE 186 wpm somebody turned in yesterday, 20 wpm faster than anywhere else, were in vain, as I was usually mired in the 140-150 wpm range.) And this, my friends, is why you can only take my Aerolith scores with a grain of salt when I play because I simply enter all plausible word combinations and do it quickly and thoughtlessly enough that I can still usually get pretty decent scores despite actually never having studied certain words.
And after wasting too much time today, time to study for my theory of statistics final which is basically the polar opposite of thoughtlessness. It is Deep Thought (and not that computer who said the meaning of life was 42...)
