March 20 (two weeks ago): Winter looks at the calendar and drops several inches of snow on Des Moines, thinking we might forget what it looked like after three solid months of the stuff. It is very cold.
March 30 (one week ago): The afternoon high in Des Moines is 83 degrees fahrenheit. Residents are confused, but largely pleased.
April 3 (last weekend): I spend several minutes starting out my window, trying to figure out what looks different, before realizing those funny bumps on the tree outside are leaf buds.
April 5 (today): Whopper-sized hail rains down with abandon and also, rain. I am glad I have a garage, not that it does me much good in the work parking lot.
April 6 (tomorrow): Who knows?
Weather: Iowa haz it.
Hypothetically speaking, if you were a vampire and could not go outside while the sun was up, would you migrate back and forth between the North and South Poles during the year? If no, would you take latitude into consideration at all? If yes, how long do you think you could hold out before deciding to replicate Superman's Fortress of Solitude?
ETA: WOOT! I was just on the
Playhouse website (local theater) since I'm planning to attend their production of Curtains (not real high expectations, since it's not the most exciting musical, but it's new and probably not terrible so what the hell), and they've put up their schedule for the next year. First two shows on the list? Joseph and... The Drowsy Chaperone! I totally suggested they do that one on the survey! I wonder if that's where they got the idea...? Ah, it doesn't matter. I'm definitely going to see both. ^-^ And they're doing Cinderella for Christmas! Sure, its plot leaves something to be desired, but I'm really looking forward to seeing it on stage.
You know, depending on how well they pull it off, I may even go see The Drowsy Chaperone twice.
