I went to the optician last night for my very first contact lens fitting.  The training included such gems as "don't put your contacts in your mouth" and "don't spray deodorant in your eyes while wearing them".  Right.  Check.

The girl doing the training was wonderfully supportive as I sat around poking myself in the eye for 20 minutes, but I did eventually manage to get them in and out on my own enough times to fulfill their requirements.  I was supposed to wear them for 6 hours today.  Of course I figured I knew better and kept them in; sure enough, 6.5 hours in my eyes were completely bloodshot.  Not a very professional look, so I decided to stop being stubborn and switch back to my glasses.

I do like wearing glasses, and I doubt I'll be using these things all the time.  I really just want them with sunglasses in the summer, or when I dress up and my frames don't match my outfit.  Still, it's pretty cool that we're able to jam little bits of plastic in our eyes to see better.
