THE HORRORS OF LOSING SOMETHING LIKE YOUR MICROSOFT WORD~!
I had such a horrid day yesterday. My dad gave me his Microsoft Office CD for installation since I complained that mine didn't complete the installation the last time I installed it (cause my lecturer borrowed my laptop one day for class cause there was a problem in his during the vidcam setup and me, being utterly naive freshie let him.Then it crashed; bringing my office along with it). Still, it could still function well and I was still able to use it. And when I tried to repair the thing; it got disrupted and ruined everything. I couldn't get anything (Office related) to work!!
I wanted to cry SO bad! Word is like the most used programme in my PC, aside from Windows Media Player. I mean, my fics, my assignments, my reports~! I NEED my MICROSOFT WORD!! I depend on it like a lifeline. And for the most of yesterday, I was worried sick about getting it to function. I tried removing the incomplete programme and re-installing it again only to have it fail again and again. I wanted to cry! Actually, I wanted to destroy something.
THEN, suddenly, this morning, after a few hiccups, IT FINALLY GOT INSTALLED! at least back to the original state (where I have to cancel the 'installing now' popup but the programme would run anyway). And I'm ever so grateful that I won't try and re-install it anymore. I like it just the way it is; incomplete but functional.
NEVER will I put my fics, my grades and my work in jeopardy again!
