BACK FROM ISRAEL/PALESTINE/HELL. Thank you, God. It was the saddest experience of my life.
Ok, first off, Israel is the fucking worst fucking country I've ever been to in the world. Worse than Syria. And coming from a girl who's part Lebanese (anti-Syrian Lebanese), that means it's pretty fucking bad.
First off, anyone who's not a Jew is treated like absolute SHIT there. Even Americans. You would think that after the billions of dollars we give them in aid that some Israelis might be a little nice to you. nope. no way. Israelis are some of the rudest people I've ever met. Palestinians there are really treated like shit. No wonder the people end up reacting like they do; they get pushed around so much that they just CRACK. Like I was walking in the street and these 3 settlers (people who came from places like Russia, the US, etc...usually the "fanatics") started hassling me and trying to rub their dirty ass PENISES all over my body, so I started swatting at one to get away from me, and some settler's bodyguard PULLS A GUN ON ME. Settlers are the only ones legally allowed to carry guns in Israel (to protect them against all the "Arab attacks"), and this guy pulls a gun on me and starts threatening me because I was fucking defending myself against sexual assault! Ok fucking Israeli soldier, my tax dollars FUCKING BOUGHT THAT AK-47 IN YOUR HAND, SO DON'T FUCKING TRY AND USE IT AGAINST ME.
Secondly, the West Bank is the saddest place I've ever been in my life. Ok, aside from the large WALL built around it, Palestinians are not allowed to leave the West Bank. Anyone caught driving a West Banker/Gaza Strip person in their car will be subjected to a fine of $4000 + jail time. They cannot drive themselves out because cars registered in Palestine are forced to have different license plates than Israeli cars, so the Israeli soldiers at the checkpoints refuse to let them out. These people also live on tourism. The Israeli soldiers, of course, prohibit most everyone from entering by saying that it's a "security risk." So basically, the cities turn into ghost towns because they have no income from tourism. The places are really sad.
What makes it worse is the fact that my origin is Palestinian. So basically, my tax dollars have to fund projects that hurt my own fucking people.
I was in Jerusalem on the 6th of June which is some special day for Israelis, so all the settlers had come from the towns to the Old City, which is where lots of the holy sites are located. There's this place there called the Dome of the Rock, which is a holy site for Muslims. It's forbidden for Jews (by their own religion) to enter the site because it's possible that some holy site for them exists there, and if they step on it, they'll be cursed or something. Ok anyways, these fanatic Jewish settlers start lining up in HERDS to try to enter this site (even though they're not supposed to) so they can take it away from the Muslims and split it up. We were there and then all of a sudden there's gunfire and shit, and the Israeli soldiers start tear gassing the Palestinians who are inside the mosque trying to protect it. The settlers think they own everything. It's really disgusting.
and that concludes my summary of my trip.
ps-I finally now got to reading all 5 pages of my friends list that I had missed. didn't leave any comments because my connection is unreliable, but i did read.
