Kobuk 440 and Spring sort of!

Last weekend was Spring Festival time in Kotzebue.  Of course the only spring part was that it was sunny.  We still have lots of snow, which is good for the big dogsled race in our region.  The Kobuk 440 had great weather this year.  A great mix of rookie and veteran mushers.  Pete Kaiser from Bethel, AK won this year.  Congrats!  I don't have the patience for the sport to do it myself but support the mushers that treat their dogs well.  Its a lifestyle for sure and definitely for the hardy!
