Title: Happiness (x2)
Author Arccie
Genre: ...*scratches head* I'm not really sure. Might be fluff...Might not be.
Words: 96, 107
Summary: Naruto's happiness.
Author Comments: Righto...there are actually 2 drabbles under this title, coz the plot bunny changed its mind after the first one was typed, and I couldn't bear to delete something I'd actually bothered to type up (even if it is only 100 words). Once again...it's of the mass drabble producing structure. I don't like these two as much as the first one (I absolutely loath the last line of the first one, that's my 30th attempt at it)...but...it's writing, who am I to complain at what my brain produces. Ahh the first one is the more slashy version.
Enjoy

Happiness
For Naruto, happiness was black.
It was the comfort of strong arms supporting him when he could no longer hold himself. It was a bottomless gaze that wasn't as cold when looking at him. It was shelter from a village full of fear and hatred. It was acknowledgement from his most important person. It was a multitude of insults that were meant, but never for long. It was entwined limbs in the dead of night. It was the soft brush of hair on his chest as he woke. It was a welcome when he arrived home each night.
For Naruto, happiness was a boy who understood him like no one else.

For Naruto, happiness was black.
It was an uncaring gaze among everyone else’s scorn. It was an ally in the middle of a fight. It was the shared experience of loneliness. It was the camaraderie of a hard fight. It was the inevitability of hundreds of bruises just to land one in return. It was ignorance while everyone else spat at his feet. It was the understanding of true pain. It was a desire to prove himself worthy. It was infatuation. It was betrayal. It was hatred. It was faith. It was simple joy. It was pain.
For Naruto, happiness was gone before he even realised what it was.
