Tech Notes
Just a few comments:
- Is anyone else using Yahoo's Mail beta? I've really liked it thus far but in the past week its gotten rather buggy. HTML messages often take 2 or 3 retries to display. The display rates of folders has also gotten rather slow. They've been in beta for awhile, though Microsoft and Google have kept their mail products in beta for just as long I guess. Perhaps this is a persistent state?
- The more I use Vista, the more I appreciate some of the nuances of their user interface changes. I won't go into detail here, but suffice to say things are a little more intuitive in some areas.
- XM Satellite Radio and Sirius are apparently merging. I think most people are saying "about time", but I'm a little skeptical. While I'd love to have NFL games available on my XM radio, the consolidation efforts taking place in the media lately makes me nervous. As John Mayer says, "When they own the information, they can bend it all they want."
