friday 5: summer olympics
note from the post: I know I'm week early on these but I have to go for it!
1) What's your favorite Olympics event?
i'm not sure i have one. like most people i like women's gymnastics, swimming and track & field.
2) What do you think of when you think of Paris?
the usual things; the eiffel tower, the louvre & the arc de triomphe. also the saying; you can't keep them down on the farm once they've seen paris.
3) What's something that's not an Olympic sport, but if it were you might be a contender?
i was going to say sarcastic comments, but i'm sure other people would have me beat. so, possibly napping?
4) Which of the newer Olympic events are you interested in watching? (breakdancing, surfing, 3x3 basketball, skateboarding, men's artistic swimming?)
none of them.
some of these events they have now are kid of odd. sport climbing? handball? in 100 years telling someone your great-grandparent won a medal in these things will be like telling someone now that your great-grandparent won a medal in tug-o-war or croquet (both were olympic events).
5) What are your top 3 countries to cheer for?
the united states.
since my dad's side of the family came from poland, i root for them. my mom's family was from the former czechoslovakia, but we're not sure where. so i root for the czech republic and slovakia.
