i've mentioned before that my & my brother have
had our first smartphones for awhile now (1 year and 5 months?). but other than bumping them a few times we didn't drop them. until last week.
i usually wear a backpack to cart around my crap stuff, but have a small-ish crossbody purse for when i don't want to cart around all of the other stuff and just have the basics, including my phone. well, i had it hanging a doorknob so i would not forget it when we went somewhere. my brother went to open the door, turned the knob & the bag fell to the floor.
given the length of the strap it "only" fell about maybe 12-14 inches, the phone has an otterbox defender case, plus i have some paper napkins in a bag to use as tissues so that probably helped cushion it a little. it seemed to be fine.
there was this later;
him: "i always knew i'd be the first to drop one of the phones."
me: "well...."
him: "i notice that you're not disagreeing with me."
then i find out that he's been hitting the screen of one or another of the phones because when he watches youtube videos via the ps5 in bed, he uses a phone to look up stuff he hears about in the video & ends hitting the screen with the handle of the controller. bless gorilla glass.
and now today, he did a hard bump of the corner of his phone on the back of a kitchen chair. i hope it's better from here.
