so The Chad went out last night which meant that i got to sew noisily to my little hearts content. he never tells me not to sew but i am sure it bothers him when hes trying to watch tv. it bugs me and and im the one sewing hahaha. i didnt start till kinda late but you gotta move when the inspiration strikes you ya know? so anyhow i finially finished the first block in the
twilight mystery quilt. i got really stuck when i had to appliquie on the doors and windows. i finially just decided to trim them down to the finished size and satin stitch them on like i would a patch or something. i think it came out nice and clean looking. i think that next time i will try to use
hardhatcats paper pieced version of this block. she designed it cause she said shes misserable at traditional piecing. which i think is funny cause i find that much much easier unless the pieces are very tiny. although my favorite is still strip piecing.
also i couldnt stop thinking about the three failed star blocks i made so i tried again at the patterns origional size whick is 8.5 inches instead of the 12.5 i was shooting for in the bushfire quilt block below. it came out much much better. i suppose ill just toss it in a box and keep making these blocks with the left over fabric from other projects and someday ill have enough of them to do something with *shrug* beats me. what am i gonna do with one 8 inch star block? hahaha
as per ushe the cut wont work for me. sorry folks
